How Does Agar Stone Block Work?

Agar Stone Block incorporates fluorochemical polymers in a water-based dispersion. When dry, these polymers cross-link within the stone’s pores to form a barrier to soil penetration, giving exceptional resistance to oil and water-based stains, dirt, graffiti, efflorescence and other surface deposits. Unlike a topcoat sealer or floor polish, Stone Block does not form a surface film ‑ it penetrates into the stone itself, so it does not change the stone’s existing gloss or sheen.

How to Apply Agar Stone Block

Before sealing, remove any glue, grout, factory finish, old polish or other soiling with an appropriate stain remover, then rinse the surface and allow it to dry completely. Only apply Agar Stone Block to a clean, fully dry floor.

Apply Agar Stone Block neat (undiluted) on most floors using a clean mop, a lambswool applicator, or a synthetic polish applicator fringe with handle. On glossy, low-porosity stone or tile, dilute 1:1 with soft water instead. Apply evenly and keep the surface wet for 3-5 minutes. Very porous surfaces may need several coats ‑ always let the previous coat dry completely before applying the next.

Be cautious when walking on treated floors while still wet, as they will be slippery until dry. Agar Stone Block is a durable, long-lasting treatment rather than a fixed-interval product ‑ reapplication is only needed if the surface shows wear from abrasion. Note: it may leave a white residue on dark, polished stone, which can be removed by towelling or buffing.
