Because the products are designed to work together, you can build a complete kit from one supplier and keep your methods consistent across jobs.
Matching the Chemical to the Cleaning Method

MethodTypical productsNotes

Hot water extractionPre-spray plus extraction detergent; defoamer in the recovery tankDeep restorative cleaning; allow drying time
EncapsulationEncapsulating cleaner applied with a machine or sprayerLow moisture, suited to regular maintenance in busy areas
Bonnet or rotaryBonnet cleaning detergent on a rotary machine padFast interim clean for commercial loop pile
Spot cleaningStain-specific spottersTreat stains early before they set

Choose spotters by stain. Tannin stains (coffee, tea), rust and blood, grease and gum, and urine each respond to different chemistry, so a small set of targeted spotters usually outperforms a single general product. Always blot rather than rub, work from the outside in and rinse residue away.
Check fibre and colourfastness. Wool and natural fibres can be sensitive to high-pH products, so read the label for fibre suitability and test in a hidden spot. Treat upholstery with the same caution, and keep SDS documents with your equipment.
Agar Carpet and Upholstery Products
All products here are from Agar. For extraction work, Citrus Extra pre-spray loosens soil before rinsing, and Cap It Off encapsulation cleaner suits low-moisture maintenance. A versatile carpet stain remover such as Spot Wiz also works as an upholstery cleaner for fabric chairs, and Tannex targets coffee and tea marks. Traditional shampooing is covered by Agar carpet shampoo.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my extractor foam up?
Residual shampoo or detergent in the carpet can create foam in the recovery tank. A defoamer added to the tank helps control it.
What is encapsulation cleaning?
The cleaner surrounds soil particles and dries to a brittle residue that is removed by routine vacuuming, which keeps moisture and downtime low.
Can these products be used on upholstery?
Some can. Check each label for fabric suitability and always pre-test on a hidden area.
Do you supply carpet cleaners outside Melbourne?
Yes, we supply wholesale customers throughout Victoria. Include your location in your quote request.
