Commercial Laundry Detergents

Commercial Laundry Detergent Supply in Melbourne
Our commercial laundry detergent range covers Agar liquids, powders, pre-soaks, oxygen bleach, chlorine bleach and laundry sour for on-premises laundries. It is intended for hotels and motels, aged care, childcare, gyms, restaurants, salons and cleaning companies washing towels, linen, uniforms and cleaning cloths in volume.
Using purpose-made products and consistent dosing helps linen come out cleaner, last longer and feel better than relying on supermarket detergent.
Building a Commercial Wash Program
Most professional laundries combine a main detergent with additives that solve specific problems. The table below shows how each type is generally used.

Product typeRole in the wash

Laundry liquidDissolves quickly and suits automatic dosing pumps
Laundry powderMain wash detergent, often favoured for heavily soiled loads
Pre-soakLoosens stubborn soil and stains before the main cycle
Oxygen bleachBrightens and lifts stains; generally gentler on coloured items than chlorine
Chlorine bleachWhitens and sanitises suitable whites; check fabric care labels first
Laundry sourUsed in the final rinse to neutralise leftover alkalinity

Dose according to load weight, soil level and water hardness rather than by guesswork, as overdosing leaves residue and wastes product. Separate whites, colours and heavily soiled items such as kitchen cloths. Store bleach away from acids, wear the PPE listed on the SDS, and never combine chlorine products with other chemicals.
Agar Laundry Products We Carry
All products in this category come from Agar. For dosing systems, Taurus laundry liquid is a practical main detergent. If you prefer a laundry powder, compare Flair washing powder with Blue Active. Stained items can be treated first with Agar pre-soak powder, and laundry sour completes the rinse. If you also use fabric softener, mention it in your quote request and we can advise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is liquid or powder better for a commercial laundry?
Both work well. Liquids suit pump dosing systems, while powders are popular for manual dosing and heavy soil. Your machine setup usually decides.
What does laundry sour do?
It neutralises alkaline residue left from detergent, which can help reduce skin irritation and yellowing of linen.
Can I use bleach on all linen?
No. Check care labels; chlorine bleach can damage coloured or delicate fabrics, where oxygen bleach is often preferred.
