Green & Eco-Certified Cleaners

Eco Friendly Cleaning Products for Melbourne Workplaces, Supplied Wholesale

This range gathers Agar’s eco friendly cleaning products into one place, covering washrooms, toilets, kitchens, glass, floors and general surfaces. It is designed for facility managers, schools, councils, offices and cleaning contractors who want to reduce the environmental footprint of daily cleaning without assembling a program from scratch.

Because the eleven products span most routine tasks, a site can shift a large share of its chemical use to greener alternatives in one step. Certification details vary by product, so check the individual product page and label for the specific claims that apply.

Building a Greener Cleaning Program

Switching to green cleaning products works best when it is part of a wider approach rather than a simple product swap:

• Buy concentrates where possible: diluting on site from 5L or 20L containers means fewer bottles, less packaging and lower transport per clean.
• Dilute accurately: overdosing wastes chemical and leaves residue; a measuring jug or dosing system keeps results consistent.
• Choose by pH and soil: neutral cleaners for daily floor and surface work, alkaline products for grease, and acid-based products for scale and soap scum in washrooms.
• Pair with reusable tools: microfibre cloths and flat mops can reduce the amount of chemical and water needed.
• Do not skip safety: greener formulas still need correct labelling, staff training and access to each Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
• Look for evidence: independent certifications and clear ingredient information are more meaningful than vague “natural” wording.

Agar Products in the Green Range

For floors and hard surfaces, Agar pH-7 Neutral Floor Cleaner handles routine mopping, while Agar Citra-Mist is a plant-derived spray and wipe cleaner for benches and desks. Agar Powerdet Eco is a general environmental detergent, and washrooms are covered by Agar Shower Star. In staff kitchens and cafés, Agar Dish-Kleena is a high-foaming hand dishwashing detergent.

You can find the full chemical line-up, including disinfectants and degreasers, in our cleaning chemicals category.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do eco friendly cleaners work as well as conventional chemicals?

For routine cleaning, well-formulated green products used at the correct dilution can perform comparably. Heavy or specialised soils may still need a dedicated product.

Are green cleaning products safe to use without PPE?

Not necessarily. Follow the label and SDS for each product, as some still require gloves or eye protection, particularly when handling concentrate.

Can I replace my whole cleaning range with eco products?

This range covers washroom, kitchen, glass, floor and surface tasks, so many sites can convert most of their routine cleaning. Disinfection requirements should be reviewed separately.
