Organising a Janitors Cart for Faster Site Rounds
A well-set-up trolley saves cleaners from walking back to the storeroom every time they run out of something. On this cart, chemicals, cloths, mops and bin liners can all travel together, while the included laundry / refuse bag collects rubbish or used linen as the round progresses. The swivel front wheels make it easier to turn into corridors, lifts and narrow office aisles.
Many supervisors standardise how each cart is loaded so any staff member can pick one up and know where things are. A simple layout might look like this:
- Spray bottles and chemicals grouped together, away from clean cloths.
- Colour-coded cloths kept in separate compartments by area.
- Spare bin liners within easy reach for every stop.
- Mops and handles secured upright so they do not drag.
Empty the refuse bag at the end of each shift and wipe down the cart before it goes back into storage. Hotels, hospitals, schools and office cleaners can request wholesale pricing for one or several carts.
