What Is Agar Fresco?
Agar Fresco is an acid-based all-purpose washroom cleaner designed to dissolve soap scum, limescale and bio-waste build-up on toilets, urinals, showers and ceramic tiles. It combines a mild organic acid with biodegradable surfactants, giving it enough cleaning power for regular washroom maintenance while carrying a pleasant citrus fragrance.
Key Benefits of Agar Fresco
- Dissolves soap scum, limescale and bio-waste on washroom surfaces
- Mild organic acid formula backed by biodegradable surfactants
- Versatile dilution range covering toilets, urinals, showers, floors and walls
- Pleasant citrus fragrance
- Free of ammonia, glycol ethers, nonyl phenol ethoxylates, caustics, chlorine and phthalates
- Low VOC and formulated without added phosphates
How Does Agar Fresco Work?
Fresco’s mild organic acid breaks down mineral deposits such as limescale and soap scum, while its biodegradable surfactants lift bio-waste and everyday grime from washroom surfaces. Diluted to a strong mix, it’s effective on heavily soiled toilets and urinals; diluted further, the same concentrate is suited to daily wiping of showers, basins, benches, taps, floors and walls.
How to Use Agar Fresco
Agar Fresco is a concentrate and must always be diluted with water before use, with the ratio adjusted to the task. For toilets and urinals, a strong dilution of around 1:2 (approximately 80ml of concentrate per bowl) is applied, left to dwell, then scrubbed and rinsed. The same 1:2 dilution suits an initial deep clean of showers and baths. For daily cleaning of showers, baths, basins, benches and taps, a lighter dilution of around 1:10 is used, while washroom floors and walls are typically cleaned at around 1:50. Fresco is suited to stainless steel, porcelain, ceramics and glass, but should not be used on marble, terrazzo or laminate surfaces. Diluted to at least 1:13, the solution is no longer classified as hazardous, though the concentrate itself should be handled with the recommended protective equipment.
| Task | Recommended Dilution |
| Toilets and urinals | Approximately 1:2 (around 80ml per bowl), dwell then scrub |
| Showers and baths – initial clean | Approximately 1:2 |
| Showers, baths, basins, benches, taps – daily clean | Approximately 1:10 |
| Washroom floors and walls | Approximately 1:50 |
What Surfaces Can Agar Fresco Be Used On?
Fresco is suited to stainless steel, porcelain, ceramics and glass in washrooms, toilets, urinals and showers. It is not suitable for marble, terrazzo or laminate surfaces, which can be affected by its acid formula.
